We do have a dog, but he likes the kittens. Ever since they first arrived he's stayed near them every day watching out for the neighbours dog.

Try putting up barbed wire around them to protect them from your neighbours dog and why stop there, put up watchtowers with machine guns mounted in them and place tripmine with lasers around the perimeter ala Half life and hey why not buy a tactical nuke that will go of if the perimeter is breached that will protect the kittens.
