It rained earlier today and my window was open. The carpet in my room got wet. Does anyone know of an effective way to dry it?

Depends. Is it a built in carpet, or a rug carpet?

It is a room-sized carpet glued to the concrete floor.

err, that sucks then. Maybe use a vacuum cleaner(one of those that can clean off the liquids). It helps sucking up most of the moist.

Do you have a heat lamp or a heater?
Sponge?

Lots and lots of towels maybe. Turn the heat on high, and vacuum it.

Thanks for the ideas. Used the vacuum cleaner already, and opened the window again after it stopped raining. It's almost dried up now, luckily.

I wouldn't turn on the heating at this time of the year just so the carpet dries up. It's hot enough without it.

Do you have some kind of dehumidifier? That would help with stopping mould from growing due to the damp.

I don't. Luckily it dried up faster than I expected it to. I guess I'll put a new carpet when this one starts stinking :P

I once threw a tennisball into the gutter above my bedroom window. Then the heavens opened it hit the tennisball and flooded my room... the whole room needed to be redecorated. Was a small room.
