It feels great because no one person can fire me anymore.

I can pretty much do anything I want (nothing illegal, of course).

It's the non-academic equivalent of being tenured. I still have to work as a doctor, but job security is pretty much guaranteed unless I do something egregious.

Actually, if you look at my latest project, I just converted a SP map into a MP one. I can go both ways.
Valve has done it with their maps (dm_lockdown is a conversion of the Nova Prospekt levels in HL2, and dm_overwatch is a conversion of the Follow Freeman chapter).
