Ok, on Saturday i found a hurt bird in my front yard, i asked my step dad to help it before i went with my dad, then this morning, i check my backyard, and the things hanging on the wall, still cant fly, so i try to give it bread, and it ends up falling, and my dog instantly grabbed it and killed it, i dubbed the thing birdy, and dug it a grave, is it in any way my fault its dead? and was making it a grave the right thing?

My cat sucked at catching birds for the last year but then this month she suddenly got much better and brings them to us as gifts like once a day. I'm talking small birds, not huge as pheasants which we get a lot.

Heh, my cat brought me a dead bird about 2 weeks ago. Before that I found a mouses head on my doorstep, mini-godfather-style. I've also seen him eat a mouse whole, which is kind of disturbing with the bone crunching and all.

Don't know how this relates to your story, come to think of it.

The only thing close to that I've done (or can rememeber) is rescuing a baby rabbit from my cat. It buggered off on it's own after a while.
Wait, I've also restored a kookaburra back to it's former glory, too. Forgot about that.

EDIT: On the unrelated side note, my cat once caught quite a large rainbow lorikeet, I believe.

You should not feed and touch the wild animals!

If it was severely hurt I don't blame you. It is better to put it out of its misery quickly than let it die a slow and painful death.
