EDIT
I got an email from Play basically giving me my pre-order bonus code but I was surprised to read it said I have to activate it in Steam. Well hang on? I ordered the retail version so huh? A quick google reveals:
"Jason Bergman, Senior Producer at Bethesda Softworks: Yes. Fallout: New Vegas will fully utilize the Steamworks SDK. This means that retail PC copies will activate via Steam. We are also using Steam for achievements and other features (but not multiplayer, of course. FNV remains a single player only game)."
I'm not bothered about it but I hate to be forced to go online to play a game I physically own when an internet connection problem could prevent me from playing it.
So...Fallout New Vegas eh?
Mine's coming tommorow and I gotta say I probably wouldn't have got it if there were other games coming out at the same time. My point is, I usually find these few months before Christmas are a bit dry in the new, interesting games department.
Anyway I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I intend to go down the laz0r using, Science braniac, repair man route. It's the most fun. I also hear there's a perk that makes...easter eggs appear. Yeah, so stuff similar to the Tardis in Fallout 1.
I hope that bloody perk is still in there. I intend to blow some whore heads off. And by whore I mean robot whores.
Anyway, I pre-ordered it too. If you want to check out some stuff on it it already had a wikipedia page yesterday (came out today in America).
When I checked it yesterday, It had info on all the perks and skills etc, so you might find it useful.
I personally bought it since I loved Oblivion, and I also enjoyed Fallout3, so hence a flipin' sequel to it which has already received very good first impressions won me over by miles.
But yeah I love Oblivion and Fallout 3 which is another reason why I'm buying.
Sorry to hear about the cancellation. I will. I've read very minor comments and some people say it's just as buggy as Fallout 3. Well good thing I never ran into any bugs then eh
Either way I looked at a load of trailers and it looks quite fun. I think I might join the slavers and do a lot of their dirty work.
