Don't know what Update is but:
Wikipedia: On the Beta 1.6.6 update, Notch joked that he had removed Herobrine, a scare-story about someone with the default skin with white eyes appearing in user's SSP, when he really just deleted the Human mob.

Cannot wait for 1.7 OMGOMGOMG
Also, check out the photo-realism texture pack, combined with Wildgrass mod and the depth of field shader it makes MC look epic. It's a mystical jungle wonderland.

Herobrine was never real. The whole thing was hoax, he isn't in the game, never was, and most likely never will be. "I have no plans of adding Herobrine." Said by Notch himself.
I'm looking forward to 1.7 too, it looks to be the best update in along time.

@Blitz: Yeah i downloaded the LB Photo Realism pack (256x256) but that lagged the game. Bummer. Im now using Misa's 64x64 Realistic Pack. Looks very nice.
Looks like that Depth of Field shaders mod is not compatible with Misa's 64x64 Realistic Pack.

It's fun, for 2 minutes. It's not the greatest thing to have ever been invented since sliced bread, which everybody seems to believe, it's just... Fun.

Dimbark you're either using a mod or lying, he's not in the official game. That's not a guess, there are no files in the game for any mob like Herobrine.

...No. No it isn't. I can't wait until I get my hands on a (virtual, obviously; not going to get an Xbox 360 just for it) copy of it. Until then, the wiki and playing on other people's computers will have to do me.

I only played Minecraft twice. While it relies on an interesting premise, and exploits my childhood fetish of digging into the ground until I find lava, I can't say it captures me for hours on end. I only lasted about an hour before I decided there is pretty much nothing to do in it and looked for something else to do.
Alas, being a cheapskate I have only looked at the free online version, in which apparently the only activity is adding and removing blocks and there are no other players.

"Minecraft was fun for the first week, then it's just the same shiz over again. It limits my creativity in many ways."

Anyways, you probably just have no clue what you're doing. Have you... 1. Road a boat 2. Written a map 3. Fought beasts in a dungeon 4. Hit bedrock 5. Gone to the Nether 6. Gone to a Build Server 7. Riden a Pig

Blitz, theres a mod for cheese milk and chocolate and stuff, pretty cool. Back after 3 days BTW, Minecraft is amazing, other than seeing dimshit once in-game, I bought this game back before it was fucking popular ^_^ back in September 09.
When starting a new game, make the seed 8518152189145 and keep fog off.
1.6.6:
+ Added a new use for bonemeal
- Changed the material of glowstone from “glass” to “stone”. This means you need a pickaxe to get resources from it
- Made glowstone drop more loot
- Made the recipe sizes for creating cloth blocks and glowstone blocks smaller (2x2 instead of 3x3)
- Re-introduced unlimited FPS, renamed the option again
- Fixed beds not working very well at all in SMP
- Fixed destroying a boat spawning the player too low, causing them to sometimes fall through the ground
- Boats float up to the surface quicker
- Boats falling down into water lose their vertical momentum very fast
* Removed HerobrineWikipedia:
