I was surfing porn one night and came across a video. Seemed fairly normal at first, until I realized the girl wasn't in on it. Haunted me for months. Rape is a fucking horrible thing.

yeah, happened to a really good mate of mine. It's really difficult to know what to say to them, but it's really important you help him/her through this.

My mate pressed charges but they never stuck so it got even harder for her.

It's even worse when you can see it happening with your own two eyes.
I had no clue what to say to her afterward , I'm usually quite a socially awkward person but I genuinely had no idea what to say. Everyone else was about to beat the shit out of the drunken mess who did it , and one person , if it weren't for a small group of us , would've stabbed him.

Even if you don't have anything to say, make sure she knows you care about her. She'll probably need friends after this.

And why the fuck didn't they? Were they not there while it was happening?

The drunken mess was one of our best mates who in the whole 16 years of knowing him , he has never done anything like that. That's why he wasn't killed. He did get the shit kicked out of him.

Even if he was 16, who the fuck doesn't drink when they're 16? In the UK, at least. You have to be 18 to buy alcohol, but you can drink it indoors at 16.

You have to be 19 to be in possession of alcohol here in North America. I'm not sure you entirely realize it but UK isn't the entire world.

Also I'm sure I should respect how IM 'feels' right now because I know he's going to be feeling pretty bad, but a bunch of underage teens getting wasted is irresponsible as can be, having a couple of drinks and having a good time is a entirely different thing, but I'm going to assume that's not the case considering everybody was 'partying'.

That being said it actually has less to do with underage and more to do with just that, whether or not people were getting wasted or having a good time, if somebody is going to get wasted then they are very easily prone to doing stupid shit, the only thing that age decides is responsibility. A young teen who likes to 'party' probably isn't going to drink responsibly and that's why I bring up the underage part.

Cause Effect:
Age: Adult-More prone to drink responsibly, if the adult in question is responsible overall
Teen-Less likely to drink responsibly, more prone to get wasted

Drinking Responsibly: Regardless of age-Less likely to do irresponsible or stupid things due to clear mind.
Getting wasted: Regardless of age-Prone to doing stupid or irresponsible things due to not being able to think clearly

Crollo, I'm unsure which country you mean by North America, but here in the USA, most states have set the legal drinking limit to 21. And like some people said, teenage drinking is nothing new, my friend comes to school wasted and high almost every other week and he does pretty well while drunk off his ass. Go troll on another journal, Instant Mix didn't post this so you could sit there and go "LOOL STUPID DRUNK TEENAGERS ITS YOUR OWN FAULTS". As aaron said: I think you're all a bit too furious on Crollo for just stating the facts. Yesterday a situation went out of conttol because of drinking wuth my colleagues, I could see it coming but couldn't avoid it because I didn't have a direct implication( it wasn't S bad as IM situation, a friend jusr got ultrawasted). My opinion is that from stories like this we can become more responsible and learn the ways of avoiding something bad when we're having fun.
