Archie ArchieGoodbye Moonmen
Looking for some constructive feedback on my showreel.
This was rather hastily put together for a specific job application and as such I didn't have time to get copyright clearance to include a lot of the commercial programs I've shot which is annoying.

Still, let me know what you think.

I think the equipment is good, it's like the same quality they use to film misfits. Some good footage and filming... and you live in an area with a lot of white people :D

The redhead is ok.

Oh, what I think about the showreel? I think it's pretty good, even if I'd have done it with slightly different dynamics at some points. Just nitpicking probably. But what do I know, I've never seen anybody else's showreel so I'm not quite sure what I should be looking at.

The scene at 0:16 is the worst clip of the reel methinks.

I think it's too long. The music on the background doesn't really fit for an overall presentation of all the scenes, at least from my point of view.
There are some scenes that are too static for this showreel, such as the interview clips.

I don't know what else I can say... it didn't attract me very much.

Unfortunately pretty much the only work available to me as a camera op at the moment is boring interview stuff so I need to make it clear that I can compose good looking static interview shots. I'm aware they kinda suck the pace out of the reel but I kinda had to include them :<

I think it looks very good sir, though i've never seen another showreel before. One problem to get sorted: 00:32 the steering wheel and gas pedals seem to bee on the reverse side of the car. <=

The length is too long. I made it through about half way and I was starting to wait for the end. The modern day attention span for the Western world is about a minute.

If there is a story, you can hold the attention of the audience for longer. Since the clip is a collection of disjointed segments, it's hard to watch for that long.

There are also multiple samples of each video. I would recommend picking the best, and most interesting aspect from each of your video and just show that once.

Changing the soundtrack can also make the video seem shorter and refresh the audience's attention.

You got talent, but I think this video sample does not do your talent justice.
