So, at the urging of a friend, I decided to get back into The Walking Dead and caught up from the mid-season break up to the last episode of the season. I honestly don't know why I thought it'd be a good idea to watch them but I did. And I regret doing so, as its still a pile of shit.

Since writing my complaints on several episodes in one journal posting sounds too much like work to me, I'm just going to underline my misgivings:

1 - Why do they continually insist on trying to keep suicidal people alive? If they want to die then they can't be saved. Stop fucking around with lost causes and do something useful.
2 - Speaking of doing stuff, something actually happens! They found people! They advanced the plot and it only took them just one episode to do it! I'm impressed. Pity they didn't adopt that successful formula for EVERY EPISODE.
3 - Why does Lori thank Shane for all he did for her? She does know he tried to rape her, right?
4 - Why does Lori get at Andrea for doing guard duty rather then domestic work when Dale and (presumably) T-Dog also do guard duty and no domestic work? What, does their being men make them incapable of taking 10-15 minutes to scrub cutlery? Logic, this show doesn't employ it.
5 - Why does Rick abandon Lori in like 5 seconds when Hershel tells him to, but it takes him like 10 years to figure out what to do with Randall?
6 - Whats with all the character inconsistency in the final episode? They say and do stuff completely out of character. Its like the writers wrote the story for the final episode then tried to jam their characters into as best as possible.
7 - Why do the Cattle suddenly exist on the farm?
8 - Why does a walker struggle to get out of mud until a kid throws stuff at him? Does he just go into hulk mode or something? And a ninja too it seems, seeing as it can magically sneak up on Dale in a field. At night time admittingly, but even Dale should've been able to pick up on a walker approacing.
9 - They should just make T-dog wear a shirt that says "Token Black Guy"
10 - How come the walkers are only just now hearing the gunshots at the farm? They've fired like a bajillion shots yet get no walker, then Carl fires one and suddenly every walkers onto them? WHUT?

Please bring Frank Darabont back. He had actual talent.

Warning - spoilers

Are you aware that the plot loosely follows that of the comic books?
Shane has the hots for Laurie and was incredibly drunk while he was at the CDC. other than that they all thought Rick was dead remember? Shane wanted something he once had and then lost.
Killing a kid is a lot bigger of a decision than "abandoning" Laurie.
Most of the times he leaves it's for good reason. And you remember that Laurie is an idiot, yes?
There's always been cattle on the farm.
As for the walker in the mud, he didn't have a real reason to try hard to get out of the mid until a 9 year old tasty snack was 2 feet away from him. And he didn't get unstuck, he severed his foot so technically his foot was still stuck there.
I agree dales death sucked hardcore.
And if you noticed the into into the last episode, the helicopter flew over Atlanta and the heard moved toward it. It just took the Atlanta herd this long to reach the farm- they were always walking in that direction. The gunshots just happened to be within earshot and they diverted their attention.

Yes, I know it loosely follows the comic. What exactly does Rick being supposedly dead have to do with Lori apologising to Shane? And how exactly does being there for Lori when Rick wasn't excuse the attempted rape at the CDC? How does she simply forget that? And yeah, the writers have made her character into a complete idiot.

Killing a full grown man who tried to kill them and admits to being a part of a group that raped others who knows the whereabouts of your Farm? Seems like a foregone decision to me. But apparently that wife of yours you so desperately tried to find when you got out of the hospital? Rick was dumb there, you gotta admit.

The walker only really makes a go for it when he actually hits him with stuff, not when he sees him. Walkers need no provocation to go after prey, so why does he only then free himself when he gets hit?

They showed no Cattle around till the episode when it suddenly became relevant, which oddly has not been found by any walkers.

What makes you think the horde is from Atlanta? They found a horde on the highway remember? There are multiple groups, and we know there are walkers in the forest and nearby town. Guns aren't quiet, so why isn't it that at least 1 walker, probably a dozen, did not stumble onto a farm filled with cattle and humans?

Lori apologised for being the catalyst for the angst between Shane and Rick (from what i can remember) - There was no excuse for the attempted rape - just part of why lori is an idiot.

IMHO, randall wasn't a threat. But i do think rick's hesitation made everything worse.

No explanation for the walker acting upon being provoked.

Just because there was no previous mention of cattle doesn't mean they weren't always there. Like the walkers in the barn.

I think the horde is from Atlanta because the intro of the last episode showed a horde being led from Atlanta from a helicopter. Plus if i remember correctly it shows the same ragged female zombie in a few of the transition shots.

But your point is valid that a random horde could have just randomly hobbled by.
There's the muddy river that protects them, and its a secluded farm.
They have gotten lucky for not being noticed until then.

Yeah, Lori's character is an idiot.

As for the horde from Atlanta, I rewatched the intro and I think your right, although it does leave me wondering how this horde could somehow bypass the environmental obstacles (like swampy terrain as you pointed out) when no others couldn't.

Dale was my favourite character, except for maybe Daryl.

I sad faced.
