They're possibly stuck in the ground. Invalid spawn point means that the spawns are in a place where they can't spawn properly. Check your terrorist spawnpoint and make sure they're not touching the ground (a fairly common cause of this problem).

95, 98 = DOS
ME, 2000, XP, Vista = NT

Yeah, considering this isn't as unified as a normal game, restricting access to other maps is a bit cruel.

You should make it that the player has to go through the maps. A collection process would work: make the player pickup a part in the level that allows him/her to unlock something.

What that something is, I don't know. :P

Why PNG, WHY

JPG!

PNG is good for large images that don't have a lot of colour (especially when they have a lot of white). If you save as PNG in that situation, you'll get a file that's smaller than a JPG.

However, large images with lots of colour and detail = useless as a PNG. Might as well save as a BMP while you're at it! :D

Porting this to HL1:S is fairly silly, considering that only those who bought the premium package of HL2 would have it (or, if they were stupid enough to buy it after).

I say HL1, simply to make it, er, simple. No need to worry about props, fancy lighting and the like. As Kasperg said, it's all about the fun: we're not exactly out for huge appeal and fame.

Now, we need some project leaders.

Well, if that's been sorted, you'd need to figure out how the mod will progress: will it be story-based, with each user contributing to the mod in a style that's predetermined, or will it work like Reissues with totally seperate maps and events?

Doing both would be a nightmare. :P

I suppose HL1 would be the best bet. Custom textures would also be good, which'd mean we'd need a specific member doing textures for a variety of things.

HLFX has been around for a long time now. In fact, I remember, back in the early days when it was considered an absolute pain because it messed with your HL files as it didn't actually present itself as a mod: rather, it replaced your HL install. :P

Yeah, that's the problem. You can't really inject this stuff into the HL1 mapping as it's far too plain to house these effects.

Apart from that, not bad. I'm downloading the demo now.
