Tombraider one, the lost vally level was pretty scary, hell, i died the first time and didnt dare to go in again.

When you drop down from the clif in a lush vally you hear a heavy drum coming through the earth, suddenly a giant dinosuar jumps out of nothing on you!

@ Hunter, dont be put down so fast by other entries, just give your idea a try. Just make sure you do it all for fun.

Excellent screenshots there rimrook!

A small note on the models:

The modeling looks good, obvioulsy box modeling :) .
But, the smoothing isnt quite alright there, it looks like you only left the default faces smoothed.

To do this in Max:

Go to the modifier tab, select a mesh smooth, and make sure its activated.

way two:
Go to your edit mesh/ edit poly, and move down to the surface properties, now you can select all your poly's and asign them to a smoothing group(thise numbers) or let max do it himself by selecting autosmooth.

Turbines need pipes leading to them from the top, since water follows the Newton laws and will go down no matter how much counter-force :) . You might want to raise the generators to and a walkway above them or so, to create some vertical combat and give the ct's a chance to ambush the T's. Just throwing some idea's around, i can see this already growing a lot.

The weapon's modeling is as good as done, though i had to drop max from the computer for a bit since i had some serious issues with preformance in 3d applications.

Havent done the skinning yet, uvmapping just a rough draw out of how i want it to be, not sure if i should animate and compile it first.

Also been bizzy with school, so i havent had much time to do design work apart form my daily sketch and some dm mapping as a in and between project.

Excellent drawing there rimrook, good use of the 3 point perspective technique, what a ruler and some imagination cant do... Though some basic shading would be nice, but that is just nit picking.

Though i have a question, how do you go around drawing the pipes in perspective without perspective distortion? I always end up using the block technique to draw them, but i fail to make the cylinders look correct.

Terrain, we all know how make them out of triangles, but shamfully not many people match them up with vertical aligned traingles to create a clif face, the trick is to match them up in each view and keep your 3d view near it so you can see if you do it right, also dont go low on the grid when working with train, deu to the angled faces this is not neccesary.

Meh, the air battles are crap, i can pull so much G's in a single split s that it would rip my and my plane apart in a split second, how closer up i fire the rockets how more accurate they are, yeah right. And the stalling is absolutely crap, planes dont stall only on the z axis, the 109 rolled to its right when approaching the stall, all planes have different stall charteristics, hell, you cant even overpull them

Alright, that would be it for 2006 :)

The maximum sides a wheel needs is only 10/12 sides. If you would cut down on that you could save easily 500 poly's. Probably more.

Nice jeep, hl can only handle 2048 vert's. So there is your problem, try deleting some of the faces that wont be seen or are not really needed.

in Mice/Rats r_speeds Post #155004
yeah, all the textures are stretched about 10-15 times. low texture resolution = low r_speeds
Negatory, close, but not close enough.

How bigger you stretch your textures how bigger the fae splitting will be, so with a 256 texture at the scale of one the facle splitting will be at the 240. Scale it up 10 times to fit on a 2560 wall then the face splitting will be dramaticly reduced, this is a good technique for larg outdoor area's scaling up the rock texture to lower r_speeds and avoid heavy patterns. Offcourse this doesnt really fit in the inside.

Indeed 7th, in contrary to santa Claus SinterKlaas, or Sint Nicolaas really did excist, not sure in wich century, but a couple of hundred years ago he gave poor people clothes and food.

We kept the tradtion and he still comes by every year with presents. Just as with santa claus small childeren believe in him. The adults give eachother a present by a so called surprise, only pronounced different then in the english.

Santa claus is a rip-off from sinterklaas, hence the names look very similair.

The weapons will penetrate most walls, doesnt matter what thickness, to stop this you should split the brush in 2, it will only penetrate one brush.
