About second one - i also thought that is some kind of LOD texture, for more distanced objects or maybe for rendering from distance. I think I'll made some test with it.

But the first one isn't looks like random texture. I mean, i found this one: link and there is, that "-" should be prefix, not inside of texture name... Don't know what this one can be.. Some kind of specular map? But in 1998? Hmm...

Hello

After few years of inactive in mapping i came back, but have some problems with texturing.

I think, that i remember almost nothing about special textures

For example - what is for -1 texture? Like this (its from de_train's wad file):

Or this one for example - why is half-size texture with added letter:

Or example 3 - those black textures only with windows in color:

are they for add glowing effect or what?

Please help me to solve those problems

I do all (maps, amxx plug-ins etc...)
I'm from HLDS.pl, Counter-Strike.PL (editor in chief), and also hl.mapping.pl user.

And on our forum someone give this screenshot from CS 1.6... I know that is in CS:CZ, but I saw also this in 1.6 when I was on one of biggest LAN tournament in PL... This was only in pressroom, and I don't take a map to decompile and check it, so :F

but... there is another thing

when you use say_team or radio, there is:

Nickname (Radio) (T Spawn): Fire in the hole!
Nickname (Terrorist) (Side): drop that bomb~

or sth like that :f

Anyone know how to make that thing, who will show where are you (in text) under the radar? Like in CS:CZ, but i saw that in 1.6.

Some ppls says that there is plug-in to VHE
