I've had this listen server open for a while now and my friends asked if I could add admin and rtd mods to it. I did that by going to sourcemod.net and dled a few plugins. I'v been looking for ages but nothing seems to work for them. not even dedicated servers can use them. where do I need to put the files.

hmm maybe but when I got the original hl2 zombie fils it did the same thing. I'm just thinking that the attack code somehow went spazzy after trying to make to zombies and ended up saving it somewhere in the solution that I don't know about.

I was just using face poser and was following a lipsynch tutorial on youtube. I followed it until the actual phoneme editor. I have myself saying "Looks like we got to you just in time" and I exported it as a wav during audacity. I then opened it using phoneme editor and hit the re-extract tab and typed it in. then after clicking ok and a red error message appeared saying "Last Extraction: error during last extraction". and I've been trying for ages to get it to work but it won't. could someone tell me what's wrong.

Ok this is for people who have vista and can't seem to get the re-extraction method to work. You Cannot Use Vista For That Method. but what you can do is do it manually. first of all type in what the character is saying in the re-extract dialogue and then press ok. then it will appear with "Last Extraction: error during last extraction" in red. then go to the top of the phoneme editor and use ctrl+mouse1 to make your words align the words of what the character is saying. then once that's done play it a few times and then if it's completely aligned then you can go to your first word, right click and then select add phoneme for "word". you have to move it.

Note: you can't move it about untile there is a phneme after it. so what I suggest is after the word add a <sih> in tthe phoneme menu and then delete once you've aligned the phonemes to the word being said.

and once thats done you press the spacebar to play and then double check by slowing it down and looking at the mouth or your actor. once you've got the words aligned then you just save it as a wave. now go to your script file in your mod and then go to your "npc_sounds_citizen" and once thats open put this in the sound part of the file

The "wave" is the directory of the sound file.

You can change the "npc_citizen.testertalk" it's just there so that faceposer can read it.

now go back to faceposer. in the top menu go to choreography and then click new. then you have a timeline. it will ask you to name your actor. I called mine harry. then go to the timeline, right click on the name harry on the timeline then choose the Wav option. and then it'll come with a new window. go to filter and type in the name in the .txt so mine would be "npc_citizen.testertalk" then it'll show up. click ok and then in the timeline it should be a little pink line. you can move it about to different places on the timeline. then at the top of the timeline click somewere forward and then he should say those words. finally save as anything you want. then in hammer the entity to use in logic_choreography_scene

The Target is the name of the npc you want to talk.

The name is the name.

scene is the name of the choreogrphy scene. so browse and find your file. after compiling your character will say other stuff too but when you get a certain distance (asuming your using the trigger_once entity) he should say it.

Well I did create another mod called code src whiich is where I keep my backed up coding. I've already copied and pasted the code and still nothing. it's very strange. I'm gonna work on it today just to see whats going on.

Well I copied and pasted an old backup server.dll which still has all the main stuff I added. I figured that the last thing in the coding I did was create a new zombie type. ended up recreating the Header and c ++ files. so thats basezombie and zombie. I think it would be that.

it's skill config and that's exactly the same as it was. and poison zombie has the same thing. not the fast though. it'd be terrible if through out 7 tasks if you see a zombie it ca't hurt you.

okay well I now have evberything up and running. I just want toi know something from a modeller. I have weapon smds and skins but when I compile it all the weapon doesn't show. I followed the VDC and it didn't work and I had an all day google look around. so how can make the weapon combine with the hands to make it all stick together.

hl1 is very different to hl2 code. anyway the team have decided that it's pointless. now they're working more on models.

but we're working on a multi-player game sert in one of the levels. and it's called city of the dead. it has all of he weapons and textures and models. it's going to come out soon. and there will be a server opening as well. so I'm looking forward to that.

Depends. Do you want the player to be able to pick up weapons they already have, and carry them around with them to use as ammo later, or have to manually 'Pick up' the weapon to receive it?

right now we're trying to make it so that if you want to pickup an entity (say a weapon) you tap the USE key. but we don't know hwo to do it really.

no steam. and theirs apparently. we were all friends with one guy and he invited us to join somewhere and we took the bait. all the progress of 7 tasks had to be stooped until we can get our accounts back

I fouynd out what I did wrong... I didn't compile the server.dll. it works now and the zombies have no headcrabs and the blood is red.

Well at the moment ther's only one person actually working hard. they got some voice actors but not many. right now Alfred Turner's doing all the mapping modelling coding texturing... he's even writing the thing. but some of the team with a few things. like texture origins and voices. like I said earlier they want sopme voice actors.

The name of the mod is 7 Tasks source. they made a mod for hl1 called 7 tasks. they gave me that as well to compare. they want me to actually be a pulicicty guy. or I told them they need publicity with this mod so... I kinda took that role.

so they like the hl2 version better.
