About real-time rendering, I was meant about rendering of models and sprites in 3D view. That's still not implemented.

People want real-time rendering, including me. Without it, sprites and models' placement couldn't be achieved as we want.

Also, the loading of a map should be a bit more faster because it's slower than the Hammer.

I'm also waiting to see if my suggestions and bugs report could be considered. I hope you have seen them. :)

Some bugs I noticed yesterday.

1. When grouped brushes/solids tied into an entity, it gives an error. But when they are ungrouped and tied into an entity, it works fine. So there's a problem with grouping function.
2. The entities still duplicating options. Check screenshot to understand.

Worked first time on the Sledge and created a map, partially done. Most of the updates worked and were helpful, however some suggestions I want them to be implemented, as well as some bugs report (not sure if they've been reported/suggested before).

(Suggestions)

1. A speed reduction for 3D camera. As I've set to slowest speed (1000 units/secs) but still, it's moving way faster than I thought. Hammer has adequate speed, I prefer that speed. Due to having too faster speed, I can't properly texture on corners, etc.

2. What about the rendering of entities in 3D view, just like in Hammer? It would allow to quickly find the entity we are looking for, rather than click on each to find the needed one.

3. The Texture Browser, where last used textures are remembered; I suggest to increase the number of textures last used to 5 or more. Currently, only 2 textures are shown which are lastly used.

4. Not a big problem but what about a change in the icon of Camera Tool? I always click on the wrong one when I want to use the Camera tool. :P

(Bugs)

1. Sledge reported a problem with my map which is "invalid solid". But when I opened the same map file in Hammer, it didn't give me any error/problem like that. Probably a mistake/false report. (If you want, I can show a screenshot about that problem with that solid)

2. Models and Sprites aren't rendering in 3D view.

This is just for now. I'll see if I get any more.

Yes, I have Intel Graphics Card (Chipsets). Sure I'll check, but how will I know if there's a new release is available? Do I have to download every time for new update/release?

Just reporting about this issue (not sure if it's already reported, so sorry). I've seen some strange overlaying of BEVEL texture on textured solids. Take a look at this screenshot:

Hey everyone!

My name is PKGamerX (AKA GamerX) (nickname), from Pakistan. I don't have much to say so I'll just give out a small introduction of myself.

I'm usually a mapper for GoldSrc Engine, who makes maps for Counter-Strike 1.6. I also makes some prefabs. I started mapping 1-2 years ago, because before that, I used to just play games like Counter-Strike 1.6 on server, etc.

After registering on a modding site, I started mapping and built few of my maps, they were pretty well in layout but not in detail and several other parts because of my early mapping.

From that day, I made several maps and tried to improve my mapping skills and made out some cool maps. My friends like Alberto309 also helped me a lot in mapping. :P

I'm new on this site and mainly came because of the new release of Sledge, that's just a great tool for mapping as far as I have seen and hope this will be better and bug-free from the Hammer.

So, that's it! :biggrin:

No.

And yes, browsing for a Model/Sprite, makes the Sledge crash. And it looks like that there's a fault in clr.dll file, as Error Eventlog said.

Other than that, I just noticed a problem, by having more than one FGD files, and if they have the same entity, they all are duplicated on the entity selection list. In Hammer 3, this wasn't like this. But if there are two or more entities of the same, only one of them is listed.

Other problem is that env_glow's Sprite selection's Browse button is not available, but manual path (type box) is available. This should not be like this according to Hammer 3.

This 2 problems I noticed for now.

This is my Video Card/Graphics Card information:

Memory: 256MB Graphics Memory
Driver: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver (Updated)
Adapter Type: Intel Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family
I don't think that there's an additional Video card such as NVIDIA.

This is all I know. I'm using Win7 32-Bit Ultimate.

And I don't know from where to change the OpenGL rendering option.

I've just registered on this site, to report about this bug with Sledge.

It crashes when I start a new map.
I've configured it for my GoldSrc > Counter-Strike 1.6. And as far as I know, the configurations were proper and there were no mistakes.
