2 questions. When i make a prop static in my map, it first i couldnt see it, untill i pulled out the radius for it a bit... I do notice however it lets you pull out the radius 2 times... what are the functions of both of these? Also, I'm unsure if anyone else uses maya, but how do you ensure your models in maya are scaled correctly into Hammer? I was going to make a metal archway support structure for one of my buildings, but i have no idea how maya will translate into hammer... thanks.

They correspond to something like the "fade distance" and "fade somethingelse" properties of the entity. Look at its properties and you'll see.

The easiest way to ensure that they are accurately scaled is to import a player model from the sample model set and use it to scale things...a player is 72 units. Not sure how that corresponds onto the Maya grid.

As far as viewing entities, if you want it to be visible all the time from all distances, then:

Start Fade Distance: -1
End Fade Distance: 0

If you make a veiwable entity and accidently grab one of the globe handles inside, you change the settings (duh), but if you shove it all the way back tight, you reset the Start Fade Distance to 0 and not -1. You'll never see it then. You have to insure the -1 in the properties box.
