I have a story that will make you go Hmmm. This just happened last week and it?s the craziest thing I have ever heard. My wife?s grandma is old and has dementia and she has a friend that is not really that old but sort of slow and is new to the area. Anyway the 2 of them went on a ten minute drive into town to pick up grandmas dog and stop at the grocery store. They left at 1:00pm and we expected them back in about 2 hours. But after about 6 hours they still weren?t home yet, and we were getting pretty worried. So we went over to their house to see what we could find. We found their cell phone with about 15 missed calls on it from us. That means that they are out somewhere without their cell phone. By about 11pm we started calling about 3 or 4 police stations in the area to see if there were any accidents, and there were none. At about 11:30 they finally decide to call us and say they are lost just driving around. We asked them were they were and they said they have been to Cincinnati but now they have ended up in Columbus Ohio, which is about a 2 hour drive from us. So my wife?s dad gives them very specific instructions about how to follow the interstate to our exit. One thing for you need to realize is that there is only one interstate between Columbus and Eaton (where we live), very simple. So he drives up to the gas station to wait for them by the interstate so he can lead them home when they get there. He waits there half the night and they never show up. At this point my wife?s sister goes into labor and has a baby, and there were complications after the delivery and they were going to have to do emergency surgery. We hear from grandma the next morning and apparently they missed the exit (or never got there, who knows). They are out of money and they slept in a Kroger parking lot overnight. Grandma has to take blood pressure medicine 3 times a day and by this time she has been without it for 24 hours, and they are in Nashville Tennessee (that?s 6.5 hours from home). We wire them money and tell them that they need to call us every hour our two to give us updates and so we can check their progress. We all call into work and spend the day in the hospital with the new baby to make sure everything is going well. Those 2 ladies on the road trip decided to ignore the orders we gave them about calling every hour. At this point they have been gone for 30 hrs and we haven?t heard from them all day. We call the police to file a missing persons report and maybe have the lady arrested for grandma-napping. Anything to get them home. Finally late that night after being gone for 35 hours and driving through 4 states we get a call saying that they are home and I guess they were both having some sort of break down or something. Anyway they both ended up safe, but they had the dog with them the whole time and it crapped in grandma?s lap and grandma peed in the seat while riding in the car. What gets me is the shear stupidity of the whole situation. You would think that if they saw a sign that says welcome to Kentucky they wouldn?t cross it, but I guess not.

And by the way? the baby is fine now.

Re-post it with some paragraphs and I'll change the original post to reflect it. Really is too long without paragraphs.
