ok! i havent ever found a tutorial on this so heres mine. to have a ridiculously small amount of lagg and fps loss in your custom map, first you make your wall/floor etc.. in nodraw texture. then texture only the faces you want to bee seen. do that for all of the faces in your map and you wont drop below 50fps. " in my map i have atleast 45 models in a 25sq.ft. area and only a 5fps loss because of that, with 8 swinging lights." so there ya go. hope it helps. ;)

Actually unless you're skyboxing the backfaces and faces not within a map area get culled by BSP automatically, making it essentially useless to spend the time NODRAWing things.

The thing about models, too, is that unless they're really complex (and I mean really complex) then they don't put too much strain on the system. I can have loads of props in the area and unless we're trying to phys simulate them all they're not going to tax my crappy video card.

Dynamic lighting on the other hand ;x
