I've noticed that certain posts (not just mine) are being deleted without warning or notice.

Why?

Like which posts? I've been closing things, not deleting them.

I'm noticing the users DB is acting up, not sure if that's related to the problem or not.

That's been going on for a while, no? I could never upload any of my larger maps until I got them hosted elsewhere, it would always time out.

Any chance of telling us which certain posts your talking about?
There are a lot of rubbish posts created everyday in the wrong folders that don't suit the theme of the site. i occasionally delete posts (ask BL :-) ) but haven't done so for a while.
Most posts that stray of course are no [closed]...

I think just deleting the threads was bether - now there are about 4 or 5 closed topics on the first page and since it wasn't like that before it now appears as if there's a mad moderator on the loose, closing topics at random... :badass:

PS: This new map limitation sucks, since I can't find a proper place to host maps outside this site and good maps with custom stuff most of the time by far exceed 1MB zipped. And that's the main reason for me to move here from the Collective - to host my maps to public. And now... it's taken away!...

Woah, thanks, 7th. You're my savior. I won't spend any more sleepless nights, crying about the good ol' time. ;)

but www.250m.com is for site hosting, not file storage (which is what most of us need)
I guess I'll have to get a new geocities account or something. It would be nice if Gmail's 1Gb could be used for file storage instead of just f******* emails... :(

Damn, they don't sign up anymore! 250MB was great, but the accounts run out quickly...

Dude, why? ;)

Kasperg: they might'n't notice. Hm; apostrophes of omission for spaces? Apparently not, according to my spellchecker.

Possibly more than one ;)

The good thing about closing a post is that others get to see why it was closed, so I will ask all moderators to close a post and then add a 'who closed it and why' as the last entry, unless of course it is obvious.
Most of us are already doing this...

So I think we can safely close this topic too :-)
