Feeling brave? Take the Classic IQ Test. You just enter any ol' details when it asks you to register, it'll show you your scores without e-mailing or anything, just click the wide blue "Test scores" button at the top of the page after you've "registered".

Wonder if we can get any fun country averages or anything? I personally was a bit bemused by the question about the letter. I got 3 more than the friend who sent me it: 136. 'Luck. Think carefully :).

156, but that was from http://iqtest.com. I scored in the top 1% :D

Try this one? It's hardly a fair comparison to do different ones. Of course, you're not allowed to look up anything, and you can't spend more than about five minutes on a question, so no spending a week working it out, that defeats the point :).

ministeve, your IQ score is 122

damn you, monkey. i determine your IQ to only be at 68, since you probably added your score to Ants'. ;)
Posted 18 years ago2005-05-09 16:14:01 UTC Post #108574
Cheheh. Ant, you gotta take this and (honestly) get the same score!

That's still way above average, steve. Hurrah for Escocia!

Bratty, your IQ score is 129

aww crap...

That sucks.

I did much better on the real thing, but I had to pay a ton to take it :o

I'm very much above 129. You really cannot rely on such a silly online test.

I love this one:

Two cars start off at the same point on a straight road facing opposite directions. Each car drives for six miles, takes a left turn, and drives for eight miles. How far apart are the two cars?

Lucas, your IQ score is 122

Thats pretty high for my age and personality. ;)

Any yah, that test i thought was kind of innacurate.

I got at least a 136 before when i took it.

dude, you cannot get 171 in that test.

BTW, My grandma was in Mensa :o

I probably qualify, but you have to take a "special" test to get in.

Good luck trying though ;)

Well thats easy to work out, think back to pythagorean theorem a2 + b2 = c2, and so this equation requires 6(2) + 8(2) = 100 * 2 = 200 which is the distance between them ;)
Posted 18 years ago2005-05-09 17:06:43 UTC Post #108604
Chow, did you take a real standard IQ test?

I maxed out on the one I took in some catagories, so I really have no idea what my "true" IQ is.

(Dude, I flipped those fucking blocks over to make the shapes in like, 3 seconds. The old lady giving it to me was amazed, heh.)

Well thats what it said in that trial readout at the end, im not bullshitting, i think its a load of bollocks anyway, last time i did it i got 63 and that was a year ago! :
Posted 18 years ago2005-05-09 17:12:45 UTC Post #108608
A lot of people qualify for Mensa (MENSA?). I think it's only the top five or ten percent.

What? It was, from memory, (16^2 + 12^2)^0.5.

well i came up with the calculation straight away, jus thought about 2 sides squared equaled the third side so used the values of 6 miles for opposite and 8 miles for the adjacent squared which comes up witht he result of 100 and times two because there is 2 triangles side by side, get me, maybe im wrong in my calculations, but that seems like the right way too do it ;) :P
Posted 18 years ago2005-05-09 17:25:15 UTC Post #108613

ok i did it again and didnt just do half then randomly click the rest i got this:

General IQ Score

Your General IQ Score of 149 shows how able your mind is in general. Anyone with a General IQ Score this high is considered to be a genius. This score is better than 99.95% of all persons taking this test. All known occupations can be comprehended with a General IQ this high. You should be able to handle any academic challenges.

You scored higher than your General IQ Score in 6 individual ability categories. 3 of these better scores could be called statistically significant and may indicate special abilities, or that you were distracted on those parts of the IQ Test that counted more heavily in the other ability categories.

I rushed on some of them because I had to eat...but not that bad, considering I'm 11.

yeah, that bothers me. I get high scores on IQ tests, but put a math test infront of me and i'm lucky to get 1 right. I'm barely slipping the the cracks in the system of my school's grading and credit system. sorry, i did guess on a few questions.

You want a real test, take the PAQ (Perceptibilty Acuteness Quotient) test. That would be interesting. It's a test that measures how creative and thought resourceful you are. The government makes me take one every 3 years. Later this August i'll take one. The scale that measures it is the same as the IQ test. given 170 is high and all, I scored 401 on it when i was 9. I've digressed down to about 345 over the years. I was told that if i manage to increase it above 350 this year, i'll get free college and intuitions from the government.

I looked for a PAQ test on the internet, i came up with nothing. Probably because after your done, you've hand-written about 50 pages in answers.

I know ya'guys are wondering. So i'll give you an example question.

A young girl finds a pearl in a nearby river, she reaches in and keeps it to herself and does not show anyone. However, the pearl in her pocket turns black when she talks to a boy she likes, but turns pink when a boy that likes her talks to her. When they both talk to her, the pearl changes blue. When she gets hurt while playing, the pearl turns red. One day the two boys were both talking to her and the pearl was speckled with each color. Explain what might happen in detail.

She is talking to both boys after she got hurt while playing with them.

or

the pearl broke because of all the things happening at once

Bah, I wanted to match Alex... ;)
But really, I don't think these tests properly gauge how "intelligent" a person really is. I mean, who knows what intelligence really is? ;)
You are gifted with the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind.
Thank goodness for that. If it said "You're a Mathematician", I'd just die. :P
