Hello. I have a problem, I am working on a mod, but the Cupemaps don't seem to work when I type in "Buildcubemaps". This is what I got in the console

] buildcubemaps
bounce 11 sample 12
bounce 11 sample 22
Creating default cubemaps for env_cubemap using skybox sky_wasteland02...
Material debugdebuglightmap
No render states in shader LightmappedGeneric_DX8
Material debugdebuglightmapzbuffer
No render states in shader LightmappedGeneric_DX8

The floor is not shiny and there are no reflective combine walls atall. What the hell is going on? Please Help me.

PS. Can we have a edit button, man, somtimes I make mistakes and I need to correct them or otherwise people do not understand them!

While on the topic of hL2 MAPPING could somon tell me ho to make combine police men not attact the player. They do not attack the other npc's cos' of the AI-Releationship

1) Dr Mapper, are you sure the texture you are using is reflective? There are some textures (even combine ones) that dont use shaders.
2)Is this the first time you try to use the cubemaps or have been able to do so on other occasions?
3)Are the env_cubemaps properly placed near those faces?

It sounds to me that you haven't placed an env_cubemap in your map... It would not create a default one if there was one to use already...

Yeh Lord TK I would of started new topic for this as there is a whole section on Source Mapping. I suggest the easiest way would be to use a env_global and set it to gordon precriminal.

This has been requested countless times, although nothing's come of it m'afraid =[ - I'm with you, it would be a handy feature for the general forum-going public. If you feel mistakes are great enough to warrant changes, you may correct them in an additional post and mods can correct stuff.

What's your video card's specs? Does it support reflectivity in HL2 even?

I assume you're on a DX8 card because of the readouts you're getting from console. Not all reflections show up on said DX model (I think it's limited reflectivity shaders, at least it is on 8.1).

Got it working mate. Thx for all your help. I just made a new map and it worked? But that map I was talking about just, well, Dunno why it don't have reflections. Yes, Rabid, My vidoe card can handle reflections. :D
