right....next year, when i get enough money, i am planning on buying myself a new pc, i have been looking around already......just to get a rough estimate of how much i need to save up,
i have found a dell pc to do exactly what i want it to......at £900
my friend said to buy separate parts then build yourself as it is cheaper, which is true....problem is, i am not a computer geek or anything, so i wouldnt have a clue about buying each part separately,
the dell is 3 ghz processor, 512 RAM, 160 gigs of hard drive, 256 mb geforce 6800 graphics card...and some other yada yada
i know it is a year to wait but would anyone recommend me on a set up or tell me if i should just get the dell......
the setup should be around £900 and be the best i can get for it, i need to know all parts please, including monitor...

Don't get a Dell, they've fallen hugely recently.

Are those meant to be just pound signs? Just nine hundred quid?

Get some small PC shop to assemble it for you if you don't want to yourself (although there're hundreds of guides on the 'net to building it ? plus you only learn by experience).

I'd also recommend that you go for an Athlon64 over a 32-bit Intel, plus don't skimp, well, anything. Maybe drives. Not on the power supply, though!

Make sure you get a decent sound card too.

I'm not at all sure there's any point at all in working on specs now, though. For in eight, nine months' time? Everything'll've changed. Just save up a certain amount of money and buy the best PC you can at the time.

i am 14, i have to save all this money myself.....i have no job so the only way i can get money is through holidays and pocket money.......i know i could get an amazing pc for that much, i just need to know what i need to get

There's really no point. Just say "I'll buy a PC when I have x quid" and then shop around when you get there. You aim for a PC like that now, it'll've fallen in price and relative power by the time you get there.

i am english....i was asking questions
and the reason i was asking for a price range is so that if i get a rough estimate price now, i will know about the price i can get one in how ever long.......£750 now could be £600 then...which means a BETTER pc woooop

There's really no point. Just say "I'll buy a PC when I have x quid" and then shop around when you get there

I just wondered because of all the 'A's with ^ on before all your pound signs.

Good stuff. You'll get exactly what you want then.

For now, thread closed.
