this is my first and unfinished map and i would like to know your opinion
the map is located in the "unfinished " and is named "myfirstmap"

i was going to download it when i suddenly realised it was for CS. And the screenie looked worthwhile

Wow! I like the screeny.. Nice done.. But I will not download be cause it is for CS.. :P I don't play CS anymore.. >_<

Nice floor texture. The trim is nice. The walls and ceiling are terrible.

Pointless dark corridor. Nice staircase; good banisters.

Terrible face splitting there, making the lighting jagged. The best thing to do in this instance would probably be to move that wall a tiny bit away from the staircase. Alternatively, you could tie the entire staircase to a func_wall, but that might be a bad idea with such a large piece of architecture.

Ceiling's a let-down again here. The walls lack any detail.

Weird lighting on the strange box thing around the map. I'd suggest you use sky instead. Look at the Environment tutorial. That building with the glass is rather nice, but the bushes are a bit square.

Nice, but you can fall off the edge of the map!

The textures on the bottom of that look nasty. Rotate them using Texture Application mode. If you don't know how, read the tutorial on it.

DUde, if your not gonna review it or you dont have CS dont make a post at all.

I only made a post so its easier for people to get to it.

Well I tested this map out finally and I must say its not all that bad. Whats with the sky? its like brick.

Also if it were bigger, that would be better too.

the shadow in pic1 looks like 3dsmax shadowmap...
