i thought of a compo that might be fun, but tell me if this could be done first before i start anything.

The compo is a base-map compo where you get 4 islands to choose from. then you map on the island of your choice. you can map whatever theme you want, it must be on the island.

what do you guys think? any thoughts?

Thats a really good idea. But it wouldnt be suitable to launch it at this time while the Casa Del Administration competition is going. But apart from that i rather like that

i know it's not suitable to launch while an official compo is running. I was hoping to win a compo so i can actually use one of my ideas, but the last few compos have been rather tough or (like the Casa del Admininistrator Compo,) i don't really understand it.

I'm tossing ideas and thinking out loud, really.

Kasperg did explained what to do there. BTW Rimrook i like your idea. But now when 7th is an admin compos will be more often than before. It'll be hard to chose when start teh underground one.

It sounds interesting, but the idea of mapping in an island wouldn't be the best thing to do in the old HL engine. (remember r_speeds in Trapt's map for the "Map Something Unique" Compo.

Make a house in Black Mesa near a cliff, that is conected to the train system and belongs to the administrator. It's not that strange

it sounds great. what u need to do, is wait until the currewnt compo is finished, then release it when everyone is bored waiting for the judging

I'm workin on a mod of my own, workin on teh compo... Maybe I'd join after the compo, but i dunno.

Can't understand the complaints about Kasperg's competition. Our competitions are always pretty flexible. Stick to the restrictions and map vaguely to the description.

Not sure that there'd be much point in running unofficial competitions really either. They will indeed be running far more frequently, and there will be official Source ones.
