Doom is better with it's graphics, but it's storyline sucks so much.
Hakf-Life has a deep and interesting story, which makes it nice to play, while in doom - you just run around in some abbandoned spaceship and kill all kinds of super mutated freaks and monsters.
I played doom3 for ~3-4 days and got bored of it.

Doom3 sucks!!! 
Doom1/2 and final are much better then Hl1/2. Hl1 is easy with almost nothing to do exept pazzles and thinking of it's plot while in doom you always need to run and fight aginst many zombies or deamons!

No, you see, all action games suck arse, just like all action films suck arse. Comparing Doom to Half-Life (the first of each series) is really stupid. As for Doom 3 and Half-Life 2, you can't throw around extremly good graphics without a good game tied behind it, which is why HL2 pwns it.

i dont really like playing too much, i like editing and modding my games. thats the fun part
half-life is easy to mod, so its great. though so is doom. (1+2) so... yaaaay!

Doom 3 has incredible graphics but the storyline is lacking. Still intense and scary though. HL 2 seems to have better shader effects, but not as good textures. Good storyline too. HL1 had the best storyline, cant wait for Black Mesa Source.
