I'm kind of hesitant to post about this, considering this map "ix a nub map lol."

Anyway, slowly but surely, I've been working on the second version of Mappy (anyone who's played it knows that it = badness), my main concern being arcitecture. This is all I have right now (I get bored easily and put projects off for long periods of time), but I need some friendly advice on what you think. It's not up, but here's some screenshots:

The first screen is the beginning of the map, and I'm thinking of adding some chopper sounds to make it seem like you just got off one. In the second screen shot, I realize that the blue reception desk is fugly, but the texture I have now seemed to fit the theme. The sign in the back says "Purple Mesa Research Facility."

I'm also planning on adding a work area (with a lot of humor in the form of book titles and notes), and a cafeteria.

Feel free to delete this post.

They are alright, but i saw a few texture issues with the big door in the first screen and on the wall behind the desk and the cabnets in the second. The couch doesnt really fit in with the second screen. Thats all I've noticed, but ill take another look. Other than those its alright, and good luck with it :).

The texturing's a bit plain and inconsistent. The brushwork looks alright. Never stretch textures out of proportion! Don't use prefabs, and spruce up the rooms a bit. It's a big fancy research facility: large rooms can be daft shapes.

I'm making something like this at the moment. Mostly those same wall textures (My style of mapping) But im not really putting that much humor into it. Its going to be a day at black mesa,(only 1 map or 2) But ill have to do it very slowly because im helping tosse with his minimod. Anyway i suggest you replace that couch with a bench of some sort, maybe a diffrent table there (not that wood texture it doesnt fit with the size of the table i think) With some magazines on it, like a place for someone to wait for adm in. Just a thought but it might help you.

I agree with what Seventh-Monkey said, but it still looks alright imo.

Mappy 1 was loads of fun, so I'm looking forward to part II :P Keep working and keep us updated!
Yeah w t f, they take too long to load...
Yeah, I wonder why, they are .pngs... maybe something is bad with Imageshack?

Yeah, thanks. The second version isn't going to have as many gizmos as the first, but I'll see what I can do. I recently retextured the reception area and attempted to add some more architecture.

Some people say Imageshack is too slow and I should use Photobucket, but I frankly haven't had a problem with IS yet.
