sUp,

I have two questions, not all about exporting textures, sorry for the title screw up

1. I'm wondering if you can export Valve's textures? I'm interested in viewing their material code.

If this was posted already please post me a link.

2. Ive created a new texture and imported it into my custom texture folder, Now, when i'm working on my level. I need to shut down hammer and restart it, for hammer to read my new texture. Is it possible to refresh the texture broswer, so my newly made texture can show up. Without restarting Hammer everytime?????

1. Yes you can. Get GCFScape ( http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26 ) and go to your steamapps directory. There you can open those GCF files. They contain every material used to make any HL or HL2 game..
2. No.

Aye, you can refresh models and sounds but not materials - The way the filesystem handles them it has to run a precache when Hammer starts up.
