Agurably one of the most uniquie musicians around is Mmodule. Mmodule is my favorite techno artist along with several other 409 members. Why do I like them? They just sound great, nothing more to say.
If you want to talk bands, though, I really like Dream Theatre. I can thank my brother for telling me about them in the first place, they are an amazing band.

My favorite band of all time has to be Charta 77. A great mix of light pop to almost-metal, often with some political message. They've released 13 full albums to this day, IIRC.
Any swede has to check them out.
Some favorite hiphop artists are Organism12 (and MBMA) and Timbuktu, they're quite elite.
Techno/electronic favorites are Prodigy and Laibach, the latter being ali'l more heavy. VNV nation're great too.
Favorite metal bands are Rammstein, Finntroll, Metallica, LOK (Even though they're slightly rapmetal) and SoaD.
For punk, I'd say Dia Psalma and Radioaktiva R?ker, fair and square. Both excellent bands, the previous being slightly better.

Looptroop is pretty good, though I'm not very fond of rap, to say the least.. But they have a message, unlike most mainstream rappers.

Seriously though, some of it's okey. 311 is one of my fav bands, and they are a hybrid form, stronly influenced by Rap and Reggae--Reggae I do like a lot actually btw! So relaxing.

I enjoy a lot of Bright Eyes. His point of view is very different from mainstream music nowadays. I'm not saying that all mainstream music is bad it just seems like a lot of "artist" today milk the music system now and everyone has their own video.
I create my own music too with the help of FL Studio.
Actually i just created a little drum session with nothing but hl2 sound samples.
