True or False indeed but I can safely say this is going to be worse than Doom the Movie.

This has to be false. Uwe Boll, GOOD GOD.

How the fuck would they accurately portray CS anyway?

However, the studio is leaning towards using animatronic animals in favor of human actors. "The terrorism issue is still rather sensitive in America," said one studio executive who wished to remain anonymous. "Killing an animatronic goat is much more palatable to the American public. And it should also keep it PG-13, maybe lower."

You cannot be serious. A movie? Is Hollywood trying to kill itself?

The loudmouth beginner struggling for acceptance, the Team Killer who must face the consequences of a fatal accident, and the insecure wonder-kid accused of being gay.
OMG Just like the real thing!

Damn it Monkey I was about to post the very same thing. :)

Yes, clearly this is false.

Wow, a multiplayer only game turned into a movie? FALSE! No movie game has been anywhere close to good (Doom maybe was average) Its so false, its not even funny. Take video games with actual storylines as movies.

Personally, I think the story behind the Half-Life series could be translated into the cinema. For one thing, it has the most intricately woven story and character development of any computer games.

Whether that would be a good idea is another matter.

I'd say it's false, but when you hear the name "Uwe boll" You can't really be sure.... He's the only one that would do something like this so it really wouldn't surprise me if he accualy did it...

Let his movies burn in hell :/

But Max payne would make an awesome movie! (if Uwe keeps his dirty little devil hands off it)

It would be cool to have a Half-life/HL2 movie, but you really cant. It would be too weird to hear Gordon Freeman speak. You would have to find some ingeinous way to make the movie, and never have him speak.

No, a film would ruin the Half-Life saga. Freeman doesn't speak!

If they got the right actor for Gordon, and it was well written, I think a Half-Life movie would rock.
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-12 21:25:03 UTC Post #173878
Nooo.... That was the whole point of Half-Life, to make you in the movie. You never hear him speak because Gordon doesn't speak, YOU are supposed to be Gordon. Making a movie would kill what made HL popular in the first place (besides Hammer that is). And it would be a terrible movie anyways, the first one is about a generic, "Holy crap! Look what you did! Now you have to get out alive!" plot. While the second actually has story, which would just confuse people who are not interested in the game, cause they couldn't see how the two are connected.
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-13 15:26:12 UTC Post #174051
The first is obviously not a "Holy Crap! Get out alive!"

If they were to make a HL movie, it would not be totally centered around Gordon Freeman, though we WOULD be the main character. Obviously, the movie would be seen from all sides... from the government, and from the Staff. Gordon would just have his own little story, seeing that he is the one who kills the Nihilith.

I see it possible to make a HL movie without having Gordon Speek...

Of course, the first scene would be the infamous train ride...
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-13 15:35:13 UTC Post #174053
It would be nice if the movie opens with the screenshot movie of the HL1 tram ride, then gradually morphs into the real-world tram ride.

Been there, done that. It looks a little chessy. - Ant

And throughout the movie, some camera angle would reflect the exact screenies in the game.

But again, a movie like that might now sell. After all, I'm just a huge geek who is a HL fan.

bad idea, plus if theyd actually do the tram scene i'd be the first guy out of the cinema.
i hadda sit through that shit 3 times in 2 hours cause of crashes and non saves

BURN THE HEATHENS!!

Ehem.

Just out of curiousity, what other games have had films made after them? Obvious Doom, but what else?

Oh, and Peter Jackson, who's producing the Halo movie is believed to be looking towards Uwe Boll to direct the film. Which means one more game-to-movie disaster if true. Pitty really.

CS movie would be fucking terrible, and HL, however good the story may be, just would not transfer to film well at all.

How bout a movie where you are one of the other people, occasionally witnessing Freeman's greatness, something like opposing force. Well, Movie to Game has yet to make a noticeable feat. Lets give Game to Movie a try, one with a story line. No, I dont count Doom3 to be movie material, even though it is claimed to be so.

Agh. Obiviously false.
Twas the same thing with Quentin Tarantino, making a Half-Life movie. :
