Im re-furbishing and fixing my sisters computer. I need the windows 98 CD for a driver, but dont have it. Can I use a windows XP disc to accomplish the same task?

Of course not.

Why the hell would you install '98 on it anyway?

Meh, its old and crappy. She just needs it to go on the internet and AIM. It wont handle XP.

Thanx for the quick reply.

Never had this come up. I thought the XP CD would be backward compatible with 98.

'98 and XP are, technically, very different. You might manage it with 2000, dunno. If she just wants it for AIM and webbing, stick a LINUX distro on it.

I just downloaded a Windows 98 torrent, burned it to CD, then used that. :)

Thanks for the help though :)
