Im making my first map with moving parts, and i read tutorials on how to do Func_rotating and i followed it to the letter. BUT it dosnt work...

What im trying to do: Im trying to make some "crystals" rotate on the spot.
What is happening?: Well nothing is happeneing. Its not moving.
What i have done: Ive created both the crystal and the origin brush (i maed the origin brush in the origin texture), put the origin brush inside the crystal, selected them both and tied them both to func_rotating.

What am i doing wrong? :zonked:

You might have the default rotation speed of 0, so it doesn't move.

This is the wrong forum to post in but nobody really cares that much here :)

You just make your crystals func_rotating and in properties tell it to turn on as map loads. Experiment a bit more.

If you are using Hl1 then I better tell you that they already made a model of a rotating crystal, just place it with a monster_furniture.

Magus try this as a test:

make your crystal
then putt in the MIDDLE OF YOUR CRYSTAL a as whit the texture "origin"
then GROUP it together TO a "Func_rotating" (as you might thit already)

then Properties @
then only turn on the "START ON"
the rest leave it OFF
Then go back to Class info and putt the "smartEdit" button on
Find the Angles and Putt it on "0 0 360" ( x-y-z )
Speed - just.. Turn it to 100/200 or some thing(low turing speed)
-> how higher numbers will get it turn faster!
(as you might already know i guess)
Then save it all and try it as a test..
IF IT IS WORKED ! -> continue your map and PUB it!
HAPPY MAPPING TO YOU (ALL) :D

Well done for trying, but it's usually a bad idea to reply to stuff after it's been dead for a couple of months.
