360 will be the next dreamcast, released too early, sony will come out and dominate, the price will drop in early 07 and everyone will buy one. I dont much care if they copied Nintendo, at least it will be a controller not a remote...and 100 dollars less is because the PS3's hardware is more advanced and yes they do come with harddrive, the $600 one is 60gb and the $500 one is 20gb. I think your forgetting that without the Playstation Xbox probably wouldnt have come out (or at least not as fast) and technology would still be way behind. Make sure you know what your talking about fully before you go talking about a company like that.

I highly doubt the PS3 will dominate. $600 is too much for a console with lesser graphical capability than the 360. Yes thats right, lesser graphical capability. Lets take a look at the system specs shall we?

First off, note that the 360 GPU has 48 unified shaders, while the PS3 GPU has 24 pixel and 8 vertex shaders. Let me explain a little more about unified shaders:
-More efficient than separate vertex/pixel shaders
-Can be programed to be either pixel or vertex shaders

That means that the 360 can run 48 vertex shaders or 48 pixel shaders - or any mix of the two, say 36 pixel shaders and 12 vertex. Much more advanced than the PS3s hardware.

Now in theory, the CELL processor is more powerful than the 360s CPU, with one drawback. The CELL was designed as a server processor, not as a gaming processer. It is simply not optimized for gaming. It is also important to note that the power of the GPU is much more important than the power of the CPU when it comes to gaming.

I think Sony will loose a lot of ground to Nintendo and Microsoft in the comming years.

From what I've seen these past years, all those technological aspects are not really important since no developer uses the full potential of any console. I'm sure that there will be some Ps3 games that will look much better than some Xbox360 games even if it has unified shaders. And some Wii games will look better than some Ps3 games, etc.
Games are what really matter. It's mainly about what developers do with their time and budget, not the console itself.

You really must watch it. It's quite incredible, it left me in awe.

You may be right about that Hrny Goat, not sure where you got those specs from though. I have specs that are more detailed...you can decide what you will about it...the 360 looks like a PC slammed into a box to me...they even ported HL2 over with no problem. One thing that the Wii is doing good (and PS3) that the 360 is lacking is backwards compatability though. I have lots of PS2/PS1 games that I will still want to play and I can do that with the PS3.The xbox 360 however (unless new news has come around) will only support a few older games (such as Halo)...therefor I believe that Sony and Nintendo has more brains as to what the consumer wants...and will bring Sony and Nintendo to the top of the market

360's pixel pipelines are amazing! 48!!!! ZOMG!

Its funny how the CEO of Xbox 360 said that instead of paying 600 for a PS3, he recommended getting a 360 and a Nintendo Wii. Thats not a bad idea actually. Clearly 360 pwns all! Halo 3 and GOW look incredible. (not to mention fun looking and pwnage!)

I think the latest video card out now thats the best would be the X1900X 512 DDR. 650 clock speed, 24 pipelines. 500 dollars! That would maybe equal 360 if you SLI'd it. But still its not DX10 compatible so

Clearly for power 360 is the superb choice. For innovation and a good time and some nostalgic gaming Wii is the choice.

If you want to smash some electronics with a hammer try a PS3 It feels really good! Teach them they cant copy off of everyone else, and overcharge for hardware! Trust me its like the miracle medicine.

I'm getting an Xbox 360 mostly because of the games. Too human, Halo 3, mass effect, Crackdown, Gears of war, Oblivion, and G.R.A.W. all look awesome to me, and the console hasen't been even been out very long.
