There is a mod called Quest: The Lost Realm, an rpg for hl1. The mod has been in developement for years now, and is coming along nicely, but their coder has left. They desperately need someone to code for them! The rpg is 3rd person and everything, go here for details.

Yeah, the mapping is kinda shite. They really need to start using triangle based cliffs an stuff. And the textures are pretty crap too, in my opinion.
Besides, how do we even know that the gameplay is good?

I dont think a project like this should be judged by its models/maps. The mod is code based to be innovative to the HL engine. Too bad I dont take my C+ class til next semester
