Fraps can show your frame rate in games! Fraps performs video capture, screen capture and can benchmark your fps! Supports both DirectX capture and OpenGL ...Doesn't sound bad to me
but, of course, thats just me. 
EDIT: I decided to DL the freeware version, but is there a way to record longer than 30 seconds? Thats just terrible
