How come when I try to map for HL2:SP it shows me all the entitys for ep1 that don't work in hl2 and how can I stop it doing this?

Uh, when you start Hammer, make sure the little drop-down list in the bottom of the Source SDK says Half-Life 2 and not episode one?

You can thank Valve but it isn't too bothersome is it...

There isn't even an "Episode One" tab for me in the SDK menu :D

no I just hate it when I think i found the perfect entity setup for something and get a ton of errors when I run it in HL2. (I havn't done so much source mapping that I know whats HL2:SP and whats not)
SDK is set to HL2 and it is useing the hl2 fgd file.

Well I can't compare since I recognise HL2 from EP1 entities but just keep practicing and mark down the bad ones.

How do you know the entity set-up isn't broken ;) It might actually work but you made a mistake...:O

yeah, i get all the ep1 entities as well. I'm mostly well-seasoned enough to recognise which is which, but its still annoying.

Why couldn't they have combined Half-Life 2's and episode 1's hammer editor together! So you don't have to decide if you should map in episode 1 or in Half-Life 2. I mean they have the entities in HL2 but they don't work. What a waste.

EP1 uses content that HL2 does not so no.

how bout split them in hammer so hl2 doesn't have ep1 in it's fgd file.
Mayby someone who knows all the entitys could delete all ep1 entity entries?

They didn't do this on purpose...Hammer is still buggy and this new guy they hired made a mistake but he's fixing it ok...
