So, for my map I'm going to need some oversized pop cans (at least that would be nice)... Now making them Wouldn't be the hardest thing but getting realistic looking textures on the other hand...

Moving on to the question, does anyone know where I can find some custom pop can models, or at least textures for them? Normally I'm preety good at getting my own textures but since they curve around the can it makes it kind of difficult- but if anyone has any other suggestions on how to get my own I'd be happy to try that too

Take multiple pictures of a can and then merge them together with photoshop.

yeah. its like creating a panoramic sky image.

And if that's not an option, Google Images could suffice.

Have you considered custom-making a texture?

You should be able to take 2 pictures (front and back) of a pop can. Then remove the reflections and merge them. Then by using plane projection on the models uv editor, it should map correctly.

Otherwise, you could always shrink the image in one dimension, and get it as close as possible.

But make sure to remove the reflections and lighting off your image.

I feel like such a photoshop noob what filter should I be using to get rid of reflections?

I'm not sure exactly how to do it in photoshop, but I know there are tutorials on it.

Ahh I know this isn't a photoshop site but I figure you guys know more than me about this...

For the pop cans and for future refrence it would be really useful to know how to even out the lighting on my textures / try to remove some reflections because basically I've stopped getting textures using my camera because of problems with lighting, anyone have any links or something for this?

I did some searching on my own but I must be enterng the wrong keywords because I can't find one telling me what I'm looking for
