You remember in the last level of Half-Life 2, when you are in Breens office ontop of the citadel? You look over the city. I already know that the city itself it multiple textures. But how did they do the moving clouds above the city?

Also you can decompile CSS/HL2 map (cs_office for sample) with clouds and see "live" sample.

You could also try using a func_dustcloud with a big particle size and set it to "frozen". I haven't tried it myselft though...

There's animated cloud textures for Ravenholm and C17 or other environments. Do a texture filter for 'cloud'. You can just have them on a func_wall in the skybox and they'll animate too, no need for a conveyor. (At least when I tried it.)

Also, the CS:S clouds like those in Office are prop models as Ant said, to be used on a prop_dynamic or something. The texture also animates on those.

Yeah I knew about the cs_office clouds. The ones I was looking at were the ones in the last level where you are in breens office looking down on the city.
