Anyone who says their browser is superior to another (excluding people saying IE is better, because they just need to be shot) has a very small penis, and is trying to make up for his short-commings by starting an argument on the internet.
This includes xyos, hunter and daubster.

I never heard of Opera before my time on this forum, and I really don't want to change now. IE sucks ass, and needs to die (even though it's a web browser not a person) and should only be used on very very serious occasion... very serious.

Riiiiight.....I would like to see any of YOU guys make a mod as good as opera. I think its very enjoyable, with a nice selection of guns and CREATIVE maps. though the only down side is shooting and trying to dive with a keyboard...

whatever. A logical thing to do is to QUIT AND FORGET about steam. Thats what i did. i had enough when they said you need the net for updates, cd codes, register and anything else they want. like them saying:(example) "This 'garry's mod is so cool and popular we will sell it and get gamers to PAY FOR FUN. all them HL2 gamers that want the mod now need to PAY FOR IT. lets hope lots of them think the free copies are demos and new gamers will fall in to the TRAP!!!"

The only value argument i could see is that you need to login ONLINE to play singeplayer games, and that you need to login online at least once for the .blob file or whereever the fuck the login info is stored.

NineTrine, you're so confused I don't even know where to start. It would really help you if you actually read the entire thread before attempting to reply.
First of all, the Opera we're adressing here is the web browser Opera, not some shitty Half-Life mod.
Second, stop whining about steam. It's just tiring and no one cares.
Garry's mod 9 is still available for free (last time I checked), so whining about Gmod 10+ costing money is just retarded. Please stop.

Its just that it doesn't give you the freedom to run the game independantly of its mother program(Steam).
