right.

I have scrapped gm_squad.
Is tehre any good person with Photoshop Willing to make me some materials. i am making a Role Play map for a Roleplay community I am in.

Can somebody make me the following textures -
PC store sign - (A pc with a "Wow!" effect aroudn it and a bit of text saying Pc World above it background red)

Pc bargain poster (Decal with some text saying *Get a new Ambie 434 and get Hl2 Free! )

Games - (Hl2 , rollercoaster tycoon (1 , 2 or 3) C&C renegade , Hl1)

Random shop Sign - ( The Goods Guys text above a hl2 crate , "Wowed" effected - background blue)

POLICE sign - (the word Police infront of that black and white chequered design)

Melon NET (The words Melon NET , with a small sized text below it saying Internet at the Smallest price! with a picture of a Modem below it)

Rigel 3 Restaurant ( Rigel 3 , then restaurant below it with a picture of a large , beefy steak)

Ammu-Nation ( Gun store - with the words Ammu-Nation infront of a Melon.)

Supa Markett ( A Large sign with Supa Markett on a green background)

Random food container materials ( tins , Cereal , Steak ETC)

IF you can supply me with these , You wiull get credit in the map.
The maps name will be rp_melonbrew.

Guys , I kinda need them urgently , but I do not need them all at once, They have to be hl2dm textures (parrently garry said use HL2DM to use for making g maps.)

Guys , I know you all hate me , But please , can you do this one real big favour for me?

Most of those things sound more like props, not world brushes with textures.

the games and food can be physboxes , but the rest should be brushes. I do not want any models , I am making this map for a roleplaying community

I can make a couple of them, but you need to define the dimensions. Source materials are much more strict when it comes to dimensions. A lot of valid HL1 texture sizes won't work with VTF files.

hm... Well , in units , The signs should be 48 x 64 (48 height 64 breadth)

The poster , 48x48 , and the cans maybe 16 x 8.

If this is not what you mean , please tell me.

48 is not a valid number with source materials!!!
It only accepts powers of 2 (16, 32, 64, 128, 256 etc)

The ones I was going to make were going to be rather horizontal (256x128 or something like that). Signs work better that way IMO.

One question, how many of those textures have you actually tried making? If you are asking for help in the forums, you should at least show people that you have tried... :quizzical:

Just out of curiosity why do you need them urgently? Not like it would blow up the planet if you spent more time on it.

Some of those textures sound as though they can be found on Google.

Right guys , I ogt Photoshop , now all I need is , WHAT SIZE IS EQUAL TO 8 UNITS BY 8 UNITS? or will it be 80 x 80? I am totally not sure!

One unit = one pixel. But seeing as how source uses textures four times larger then their intended area (ie they're scaled down to 0.25), 1 unit = 4 pixels.

Say you want to make a 128x128 wall texture - it's 512x512 in photoshop.

Yeah , Everything is done... Only that VTEX is still giving me the Image dimensions must be the power of 2! again...
Sigh..... >.< I followed the tut , made a mat file in hl2mp (Garry said use HL2mp , so i will use HL2mp) and in sourcesdk content.

It sucks...

By that it means 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 etc as Kasperg pointed out. ffs, this isn't rocket science.

YES! I MADE THE PIXELS CORRECT AS HABBOI SAID - 1 unit to 4 pixels!!
IT STILL SAYS IMAGE DIMENSIONS!!!
I DO NOT KNOW WHY THE FUCK THIS IS HAPPENING!

How big is the picture in pixels?
If any side is longer than 16, 32, 64, 128 or 256 pixels it will not work.

On a side note, what happened to divisible by 16? Can't we have 48, 96, 160, etc. anmore? :(

the texture is 128 x 128

No. Source is teh gay.

Mr.Good Map, the only thing i can think of, is your image is layered or something and the top layer is not 128 x 128. Upload the image and we'll tell you if you're just a stupid prat, or if there is some nasty error occuring.

guys - the Unter - I have fixed it. I was not doing 256 x 256.... Guys......... I am sorry if I caused you bother# :cry:
Anyway.. now onto different thing. If i was using garrysmod , would I pu it in garrysmod materails , or hl2mp materials , or both?

[edit] Cannot see the texture. it is TEMPLATE.VTF , but it isnt showing up in hammer....
