ok cool so i'll fill the time while hes gone with a small question. Is it necesarry to adhere to the warnings installers give you to close all other applications when installing something?
In my amateur opinion does this have something to do with the fragmentation of the programm being installed if other programms are open?
(first post from my UNi! -- god im so fucking sick of socializing, crowding 20 people into a 6 man pantry, drinking booze and then acting like im having a blast)

"Please close all other programs..." is a holdover from Windows 9X, when your chance of a BSOD increased exponentially with other windows open or media playing. The only exception to this is like an installer for a program you're running.

I'd only adhere to it when I'm installing a driver or something. I commonly have multiple programs open when I install things, with no side effects.

I defrag every couple weeks / after deleting a huge ass file. Afterwards I do a virus scan. Not sure why, just do.

I got a tip for you all:
If you have pet kittens or any other animal who is still a novice in the fine art of going to the bathroom, protect your computer with your life.
One of my new cats (rest in peace, old cat of mine whom we never really named and just called "cat" most of the time) pissed on the surge protector for my TV and whatnot.
Burning smell, big mess, and a lot of hard work.
You don't want it to happen.
