Hay guys, I have a problem with my laptop which is less than a year old.

The laptop wont turn on if its hot (like normal laptops) or even a tiny bit warm. The laptop has to be completely cool so it can turn on. Once its on its fine, but why is this problem happening?

Note: When I turn it on, and it doesn't work, the lights turn on, but the screen doesn't light up, no usual noises from the hard drive, nothing.

Any ideas : ?

Where did you hear that was normal? I assume it's different for different computers, because my laptops temp. doesn't affect whether or not it works.

In other words, are you sure that's normal for your computer, or are you just assuming it is?

I meant to say that the laptop wont turn in if its hot, and laptops are normally hot

Normally hot like the average temp after being in use for a moment, like all computers do. I think thats what he means. Not hot but warmed up.

Check BIOS or your hardware setup. You might have a fan not cooling or something, or the sensor is off and believes its always too hot to function.

That's my best guess, and I never heard of this problem before.

Yeah, most computers can be set to automatically shut down after a specific component reaches a certain temperature, as a safety mechanism. I can do that in my BIOS anyway. Maybe that setting got messed up on your laptop somehow, and now it's shutting off automatically every time it comes on.

Still, it's a really strange problem. How'd you go about pinpointing that it only comes on at certain temperatures?

No, it doesn't shut down, it I get it to turn on, its fine, but it its even the slightest bit warm it wont start up, it has to be completely cool for it to start up, after that, it can get as hot as it wants to, if wont shut down.

I had a similar problem like that a while ago turned out my processor had been overclocked too much and it was melting

GOOD LUCK
