If you don't find it useful just delete it.

I think it would be useful if people tell which things he/she would like to learn, so if some other person know it, he/she can propose a new tutorial about that.

I'm interested in bump mapping, so if somebody can propose a tutorial about that I'll be grateful.

Also I think a large tutorial about different kinds of textures with each vmt code will be so useful. Different kind of shaders, water textures, blend textures, etc

how to make bump maps? (perhaps normal maps?) or how to use them in hammer?

Because there are tools in max for generating normal maps, if you're not savvy with that, there is s pohotoshop plugin that can turn a bump into a normal map, with a few tricks of course.

bump mapping I mean how to make a flat texture look 3D, and how to make the _normal textures and how to code the vmt.

Well I might write a tutorial on something. (I'll write them better this time) ;)

Any ideas? But please not textures. I haven't done anything VTF/VMT related in ages.

Spike I wrote a really rough tutorial on VMT code in my journal but new TWHL has hidden it for now. There's a tut anyway.

(should we sticky this?)

I'd like a tutorial that describes an easy way to make 2d skys for goldsource. It would be cool if there was a program or a plugin for Photoshop, that allowed you to see all the sides of the sky at once, and then properly blend everything in real time, but I've never found anything like that.

I've heard of using terragen, but I don't really mean using a 3d terrain generator, more like making something like the better stock skys from cs 1.6, or even the couple of decent ones from original half-life. I've heard of using modelling programs to do this too, but again, not really what I'm looking for.

So yeah, anyway, if someone knows a simple, easy way to make 2d sky for goldsource, please make a tutorial! = )

I could go for a tutorial on basic source entities and usages. Or any other basic soruce tutorials. I'm starting to learn source.
