Hi guys, I'm newbie working on the Source engine, I'm working on a map where the buildings need to look destroyed and I'm using Day of Defeat: Source way to make the walls broken, using displacements on the brushs, but some brushs have lighting issues like this one:

Anyone knows how do I fix this?, or I will need to destroy the displacements?, this is how the look in Hammer:

I assume its happening because some of your displacement surfaces have large triangles and others have a whole bunch of small ones right next to eachother. Its an engine problem more than anything. I think the only way to fix it would be to combine as many displacements into a single one as possible. Combine the outside wall stuff, but leave the smaller displacements on the insides of the frames/blown up walls.

You could do it another way I guess and make all of the walls with small displacement walls.. so you would have to cut up the brushes into smaller ones. The displacement triangle sizes just need to be more consistent.

If lining up the displacements gets too annoying.. you can always mask it with stuff like air conditioners and other props.
