I recently put in my new NetGear WG311T PCI Card, having the drivers installed before doing so. I am unable to connect to my dads and sisters wireless network. I am new to connecting to a wireless network so advice would be appreciated.

What's the wireless network's security setting? WEP? WPA? WPA2?
Have you tried to bring your laptop very close to the router so distance isn't an issue?

So far there's no security as we just set it up to see if I could connect to it. It's not a laptop, it's my computer which has wireless and distance doesn't seem to be the issue.

So does the network show up in the available wireless network connections? Or can you not see the network broadcasting at all?

I can see the network, but when I try connecting to it, a few seconds later, the Application closes. I've tried using Windows one, but after the windows pops up saying its connecting, it just closes and heads back to the available network page.

Alright, I can finally connect to my network. I already knew that I needed to be on the access list, but I was using my ethernet cables' MAC address, not the cards' one; basically had to just put the wireless cards MAC address on to the list.
