Can you spot the fracture?

This is a 10-month-old who fell off a bed.

I think I can see it, a hairline fracture on the lower part of the bone on the right?

Wow, I don't see anything.

Something seems to be not at its place on the upper-right part of the image.

Is the question somewhat rhetorical, and you actually can't see it?
Otherwise, what Striker said.

You're breaking patient confidentiality.

And I'm with the others here, I can't see anything either. Unless it's related to whatever it is at the top right.

You're not breaking patient confidentiality if you are the attending doctor and you do not name the person who's images you are showing. While you should get consent, doctors use patient's results for all kinds of things without their permission, like examples for lectures, case studies, ect.

I do believe it's a small hairline fracture:

I don't see anything there. I still think it's on the leftmost finger at the top.

Sheesh, what a bugger. Couldn't he break properly? :P

Dude, I'm pretty sure that's a leg
Posted 14 years ago2010-04-17 00:15:12 UTC Post #280576
Luke got it right.

The bones in the hand look strange because they are interdigitating with the tip of the father's finger holding the baby for the x-ray.
You're breaking patient confidentiality.
hlife is correct. As long as I do not name the patient or give so much detailed information that the patient becomes easily identifiable, I am not violating any privacy laws.

Ok, sorry, wasn't a leg :P

Just shows I know my anatomy, it looked too chubby to be a baby's arm, my mistake

Babies ARE too chubby.

Satch, do you mind showing the solution to this riddle? Because I still don't see anything in that area. I can't imagine how did Luke guess.

Btw, I have some question about 2 of my fingers, because what I feel looks like in the image(that bulge). And hey, I think you could spare 2 minutes for me, ain't right doc?

A couple of months ago( I think in February), I had a fight with someone who wanted to brake a plate on my head. Luckily, I was fast, and defended my head with my right hand. That person put so much force that the plate broke on my hand(or should I say, bones...).
User posted image
Those are the parts where the plate broke, and made some serious incisions(lots of blood and this sort of stuff). Most serious one was that from the bottom, it almost chopped through the "wrist"(don't know medical terms in english) of the finger. Fortunately, the mobility was not affected.
But now I experience some after-effects: I can't hold weights in that hand because it hurts(ok I can, but only in some positions, and maybe not more than 20 kg). Also, some bulges have formed(they are almost visible, but I can feel them).
Is this something that will cure itself in time? Thank you.

It's not like someone's gonna be like: "Hey, that's my son Oscar, I recognize the bones in his arm!" :P

cstriker, I would get your fingers checked out by an orthopedic surgeon. Sometimes when you break the bones in the fingers and they do not have perfect alignment when the healing occurs, you'll end up with permanent disability.
