Yeah, I kind of overlook little stuff like that as typical corny action movie nonsense.

My main problem with the movie was that the humor was either pretty good or really terrible, nowhere in between, and pacing was pretty much nonexistent. Also, I was among a very sparse audience of maybe ten people at most, and at every joke where nobody laughed it just felt awkward as hell.

Plus, the move made you feel like a little 12-year-old pervert every time it shoved Zoe Saldana's wiggling ass in your face. And it did that a lot.

30 days of night (2007)

Surprisingly good! Anything with Sam Raimi involved seems to be decent.. Also watched V (1983) (the original miniseries) which was still surprisingly decent after all this time..

I didn't see this film right now, but I watched it a couple of years ago and I remember it, I was just browsing the internet after something and saw this.

I must recommend you,

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

It's a very impressive film set in the medieval age about an orphan boy that develops an unusual sense of smell. He will begin to love "storing" smells, so he'll eventually learn about perfumery. But he's not satisfied. He will eventually kill women to store the perfume from them.
An interesting fact is that after each "master" he leaves, that master dies.

Ok, now I just saw "Funny Games".

I remembered watching it on TV in some night(watched it real late, at about 2 am the film finished), so I wanted to watch it again.

In one word, sick. This film is fucking sick, a lot more disturbing than a horror could be. I found it real hard to watch it, even though there's nothing really scary about it, but it fucks your mind. Those psychopaths come from another world. There's also an interesting scene where one of the guys gets shot, and the other turns back the time with a remote control (?!?!?!). Then, on the boat, they talk strange things that kind of show their psychopath intelligence.
Of course, at a deep level the film makes me think about strange things.
I do believe though that the remote control scene is just cheating, and it really brakes the rules of "the game". The music is sick also, the ending too.
Bah! I deleted it. Yes, in a way it's a masterpiece, but an evil one.

[EDIT] Today I saw The Road. It pulled every single tear out of my eye... Just makes me think about how mad and evil are some people, and how much love there is in others, and how much we take the life for granted...
The child is a beautiful representation of the good, that fights for life for the human race to go on.

The Road was awesome. I still need to buy it along with a few other favorites.

Kick-Ass
Fantastic. The trailers are misleading, there are some comical elements here, but Kick-Ass isn't a comedy. It's actually closer to Watchmen than anything I can think of. Think like some kind of mix between The Dark Knight and Watchmen, but with kids.
The film does an awesome job of mixing the practical with the overtly absurd, though it does go overboard a bit in some places.

Hercules Returns
Fairly 90s styled, and quite frankly has some pretty bad acting in it, but undeniably funny.

Hey, I watched the new Alice in Wonderland. Its good, though its not Alice in wonderland, it is the story of Through the Looking Glass which takes place after Wonderland. Title is messed up, also the Jabberwocky is a little different from popular design of it which is just plain untraditional. Other than that, it is an excellent film. Watch it. - 8.7/10

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

I expected better. Sure, there are some good bits, but it's not that great.

EDIT: Shrek 4 (I forget what it's actually called, and I can't be assed looking it up)

Did the same crappy plot move as Prince of Persia (y'know, going right back to the beginning of the movie at the end). Otherwise, generally not that great. The series has lost it's novelty, hopefully this is the last one.

I didn't like some of the kids steriotypical 'black' stuff, but overall I enjoyed it more.

Chan is less 'corny' than Mr. Miyagi was in the original ones.

I wish they could invent an antagonist who isn't unnaturally soul-less though. "HE TAUGHT US NO MERCY, WRAHGHGHGHGHGH BEAT HIS ASS UNTIL HE PISSES BLOOD LIKE A WOMAN." The originals had that problem too, heh.

It's not like Uma Thurman is a sign of good quality.

Not a movie, but I've been watching The Wire recently -- and god DAMN what a show. Hands down, best TV show ever, no contest. I was hooked from season 1 and pretty much watched all five seasons in a few weeks.
The dialogue, the complexity of the plot, the political themes, the acting, the camera work... it's all amazing. Nothing on TV even comes close. I strongly recommend it for anyone who likes semi-cerebral shows with amazing acting. Also, shiiiieeeeeeet.

I watched "The Collector" the other day, with my girlfriend. It's about a guy that tries to break into a house to steal an item, but finds himself trapped with a psychokiller who's set up traps around the house.

I thought it was pretty "meh", although seeing a guy getting his head turned to mush by a beartrap was pretty nice. The problem I have with this movie is that it tries so hard to be like Saw, right down to the ending.

Toy Story 3

I was so worried going to see this, but it turns out I had no need to be. It is utterly fantastic in pretty much every way. I laughed, I was excited and dare I say it I almost cried at the ending.
9/10 easily.
My only wee problem with it was that Lotso the Bear was a bit interchangeable with the Prospector from Toy Story 2 - but it isn't a huge issue.
Go see it.

Inception next week. Can't wait.

Toy Story 3 [2010]: <agrees with huntey> I had no expectations and i was blown away how good it was. And yeah, the ending is a tearjerker.. = )

Inception [2010]: i've seen this movie 4 times at the theatres and i plan on seeing it again. I haven't seen a movie i've genuinely enjoyed this much in a LONG time. Score by Hans Zimmer is also superb, and i'll be buying that as well.

Finally saw Paranormal Activity at a friends house this afternoon. I've wanted to see this for ages, I had heard such good things about this. And I was bitterly disappointed. It's just... shite. The scariest part is right at the end, and even that was pretty lame.

I never see horror movies. I want to see a good one, one that actually is scary.

Watch 'Triangle' with Melissa George the other day, not to be confused with 'The Triangle.'

I honestly spent a good hour during the movie trying to figure it out as I watched, which is always fun, trying to guess what's happening and how it's going to end, but much to my dismay, it made absolutely no bloody sense what-so-ever. I was really annoyed at the end of the movie, practically screaming "IT MADE NO F-ING SENSE!!" at my girl.

Good acting, terribly written...

Some time ago I could say can't watch animation films because they're for kids, but I came to the conclusion it's not really like that. I enjoyed this one, it was really warming and films like this make you feel bad for not having the good qualities every person should have... makes me think about world harmony and peace- a beautiful feeling that is rapidly destroyed by the cold shower of reality. Well, I believe most animation films should be done this way, to amuse and to learn good traits, not violence. I also admire all the work that has been put into this: concepts, ideas, modeling, environments, characters, stereotypes, voice acting, everything... people who do this deserve their money.
Oh, and Night Fury is really cute ^^.

P.s. It would be nice for some admin to sticky this thread.

Just finished watching Heima. Words cannot express the beauty. Something about Sigur R?s is absolutely magical.

Wasn't sure whether to expect a music DVD or a documentary on Iceland when I first started watching it. Turns out it is both neither and both. Totally recommended to any Sigur R?s fans out there (though you've probably already seen it) and even to those who have never heard of them.

I still haven't seen Inception. :(
But I recently saw Tron, Wargames and Watchmen.

Tron, I didn't know anything about beforehand except for that lightcycle sequence on Family Guy. For the first twenty minutes I was confused, and then for the rest I was enthralled. A very interesting movie, very good.

Wargames was one of those movies that I had always intended to see. I finally did at the urging of Joebama. A very good movie.

Watchmen was a hell of a lot longer than I had anticipated, but I think it was well worth it. Contained a lot less 'azure appendages' than what people talking about the movie would have you believe.

And I just saw WarGames: The Dead Code. Was exactly as bad as one would expect, being a direct to DVD sequel that you've likely never heard of, released 25 years after the original.
And about halfway through the film I noticed a fairly obvious goof. So obvious that not noticing it would be more surprising.
