Having a problem with goldwave converting a mp3 file to 8-bit mono wave for Half-life. It says:I've also tried CoolEdit and Audacity with identical results. Anyone ever have this problem editing an mp3 and know how to fix it?

I have had a similar problem in the past. Solved it by downloading a different copy of the file.
You can also record it while you play it with another program. It's not perfect, but it works.
