Not necessarily it has to be the very first map he made. He's stating it is his first map for Half Life.
Looks pretty good, if a bit plain.
I really hope the arches under the bridge weren't made using carve.

Looks great!
Only suggestions from the shots are to ditch the burn decal on the glass (explosion would've just broken it) and to fix the blocky cliffs.
