I have a question..
Since I don't have a whole lot of concept work, can I get some from google, then model it, texture it, then I would include the persons name who originated the concept work?
Is that ok!?
Or should I try to contact them first?

Well the polite thing to do would be contact them but yes, you absolutely can. The internet is huge, they will never find out. Depending on how up their own ass this person is they could either be flattered or bothered and even then there's not much they can do about it.
It's not like you're claiming it's your own and selling it.
