Metal clanking and spinning camera until the movie ends. Meh.

Great - a solid piece of Coen Brothers brilliance, but definitely not as good as No Country For Old Men, The Big Lebowski or Fargo.

Not James Cameron's best film(especially because I could predict the characters deaths), but it was nice to watch.

TRON: Legacy

I have to say I was very satisfied, and I believe Legacy is a worthy sequel to the original cheeseball flick. All right, there were more than a handful of corny clich?s and obvious reality holes. You'd really have to suspend disbelief to thoroughly enjoy Tron.
The film was damn pretty, though. I'd recommend it to anyone just for the eye candy alone. Seeing the first beforehand is absolutely not necessary, but it will certainly put Legacy into perspective.
Also, Olivia Wilde's character was smokin' :)

Tron: Legacy

Never seen the original, so it was awesome to go for a big movie blow out while sick in bed. I think I almost like the first one better? I dunno. Loved all of the references to the first one. I wish they would make a Tron Legacy game with all of the stuff from the movie and have it not suck like movie games always do.

Oh yes Olivia Wilde was smokin' :)

I watched Brestskaya krepost(Brest Fortress) in this weekend. It's that kind of movie that makes you admire people for what they are capable, and the bravery and innocence of children. And reminding me that time passes like a bird, and I'm just about to enter maturity :(.
Also, this film gave me unprecedented motivation to learn a language. I don't know really why, it just gave me motivation to learn russian. I want to be able to speak and read basic russian until this autumn. I love how it sounds. And also because I'd feel awesome :D.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li [2009]

Besides an awful/pointless peformance by Chris Klein(where he apparently is trying to emulate Keanu Reeves), this movie, based on the popular Capcom video game is not entirely horrible.

The rest of the cast is quite decent, with more than a few A-listers than i would expect for this type of movie.

Also a fun note, it takes place in the far east countries of Bangkok and Hong Kong, from which i just returned from with a bag full of cheap watches, handbags, and various trinkets.

The Machinist

I've seen quite a lot of movies until now, and some horror(or psychological) might have scared me. This one though left me with a rather bizarre fear of my own mind. I'm thinking whether if too much awareness of myself and my actions can actually damage my sanity, because I have a cruel conscience sometimes too. This one actually makes me pursue the ability to have lucid dreaming, and ask some questions to my subconscious.

Blood Diamond
I enjoyed the movie, and I liked Leonardo's South African accent(constantly adding "uh" to any lines). Basically, the diamond is either a way of making lots of money and gaining power, a path of salvation and a... path of salvation. Though the first path of salvation is a selfish one. The second one is the true, the needed one and so this films transmits the message that the good wins over the evil. That's how I see it at least.

Children of Men
The plot is quite probable, but not around all the Earth. In the western countries maybe. This film is such a slap to our mind which takes everything for granted these days and we consider ourselves immune, at least until a disease strikes, at which point we beg for healthiness. Reminds of radiation, all the shit we're used to eat but our organism hasn't evolved to efficiently accept it, unnatural ways of living etc.

Idiocracy

Man this film is not good in any way except one thing: it's a good reference when talking about where the human race is heading to. Sure, it presents the exaggerated part of things, but when you stand and think about our present situation, when you think about how many idiots exist this day( and not everyone is to blame, but mainly parents who neglect the importance of education), that's when I start to worry.
I'm worried that learning is a process that begins to be more and more ignored, and most of the time it's appreciated just for the sake of making money using it. It's not supposed to be like this. Think of the past scientists who helped the human knowledge out of pleasure.
One just has to go on "yahoo answers", a virtual world where common sense is a thing of the past(well not entirely, but it's just an example where you can find lots of illiterate people). It just shows how lazy our brains have become.

And now think about quantum computers: when they will appear( and this is not too far away in the future), AI will practically replace any need of human thinking. Computers will resolve problems and scientists will not be needed anymore. Perhaps artists, but where will artist be heading to without culture?

What goes up must come down eh? Have a look at the history. IF we continue like this, the "end of the world" is really a plausible idea, generated by the human race itself, not by some natural disaster.

TL;DR (a bit of irony here):
I now truly understand the importance of education and I'm sad that so many people laugh in front of it.

Ok. It is 04:15 am and I just finished watching "The Departure".

I am officially extremely pissed off, and this film is the first to succeed at it. I almost wanted to break something when DiCaprio... well, ain't gonna spoil it. Let's say that was the "semifinal". The surprise was so bad that I can't believe my monitor survived. (because in an instant I realised it's just a film).
The final?
It was SATISFYING.

Paul.
Nowhere near as good as Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead, but still very funny. I know why they went with a director other than Edgar Wright to give it more of that American feel, but I think that was the mistake which ruined it. Wright and Pegg just gel together so well, and that was missing from this.
I did love the incredible amount of Star Wars references though, some blatant (the truckstop western band version of the Mos Eisley cantina) and some more subtle (boring conversation anyway).

Worth seeing, but I'm not disappointed I never saw it in the cinema.

Saw Captain America yesterday. Wish I hadn't seen it in 3D, it totally ruined it. Expensive, annoying, and you forget it's even 3d after the first 20 minutes until they throw some outlandish unnecessary effects in your face.
