Ok, I really don't want to do this, but everyone I know is useless, and since half of you have already finished collage, I'm asking you. While I do have 3 years until I even Apply to Collage, I'm trying to plan out ahead which ones to Apply to, and what classes to take. This is mainly for Americans, because the hell does anyone else know about our collages. And the reason I'm asking at all, Is because most of my life has been formless, and aimless. I have NO plan for the future, and quite honestly need help, and so far no one has been willing to give any. Just looking for some Ideas of getting into the Gaming Industry, so I don't end up graduating high school just to work at McDonalds the rest of my life.

Ha! How old are you? In some 2-3 years, I'll be applying to college! You see, the college has a program where you can get your simpler degrees while you're in highschool. No matter what grade, as long as it's highschool, I can go. :D I'll be about 14 during my first class.

I haven't much of a plan either.

*college
(and unless you're talking about a 2 year school, it's actually *university)

Also, here's something that people will never tell you: College is for self-realization. Sure you can go there with a plan and hope it works out, but most of the time it doesn't.

This isn't even a bad thing. You want to figure out what you want to do with a greater piece of the rest of your life.

The most important thing, to me anyways, is just to make sure you get into a school that has a lot of options. State universities are a good start. There's dozens of programs spanning dozens of subjects, and I'm sure you can find something that works / that you love.

So right now don't worry about the future. I'm a Junior at Michigan State University and I still don't worry about the future.
For now just worry about getting into a good school. Then kinda ride the rest out.

^This.

I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I have a degree in electronics and programming, I only had one job at a software consulting firm. Now I work as a photographer - because I love photography. And I am now studying architecture also because I like it, not because I see myself working as an architect in the future. BUT at least I'll have more options than if I just sit here taking photos all day. Maybe I'll come up with a better plan later on.

Your skills and interests will probably change over time, so don't struggle to make a "right" decision now (there's no such thing). Pick something you like and give that a try. If you later change your mind, you can move on to something else more according to your (new or at least evolved) interests.

Take Luke's advice. That's all the advice I can give.

Im in the same boat, seeing as I'm only a freshman, but from what I have heard, the basic idea is just what Luke said,

Get into a good school, all else follows.
